DURING THE DISBANDMENT MEETING IN SEPTEMBER 1916, WHEN THE MEN OF THE 37TH BATTALION REFUSED TO MARCH OFF TO THEIR NEW BATTALIONS, PADRE GOLLER, WHO WAS INSTRUCTED TO FALL OUT WITH THE OTHER OFFICERS, IS REPORTED TO HAVE REPLIED "IF EVER THE MEN NEED ME IT IS NOW". PADRE GOLLER WAS KILLED 19 SEPTEMBER 1918 WHILE COLLECTING THE BELONGINGS OF MEN WHO HAD BEEN KILLED.
